As Principal Product Manager - Technical for GenAI for FinOps, you'll own the product strategy and execution for AI-powered cloud financial management products across AWS. Your focus includes building agentic FinOps experience, expanding Amazon Q's cloud financial management capabilities, and developing Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers that make AWS cost intelligence agent-friendly — with responsibility for defining and driving the evolution of these capabilities as the technology landscape advances. You'll determine how millions of customers and AI agents discover, analyze, and act on AWS cost and usage data through intelligent, standardized interfaces. In this role, you'll drive the vision for making AWS the most agent-friendly cloud for cloud financial management, define the product strategy that governs how generative AI transforms cost management workflows, and own the measurement and continuous improvement of the AI-powered FinOps experience across AWS. You'll evaluate emerging agent frameworks, reasoning models, and interface patterns, determining when to adopt, extend, or build new approaches to maintain AWS 's leadership in autonomous cloud economics. You'll work at the intersection of generative AI, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise finance to pioneer the next generation of FinOps. You'll collaborate with engineering teams, applied scientists, and product teams across AWS to ensure AI-powered FinOps capabilities deliver measurable value to customers — from individual developers optimizing a single account to enterprise CFOs managing billions in cloud spend. This role requires deep technical understanding of generative AI, agent architectures, and AWS cloud financial management, combined with the ability to influence without authority across a large, distributed organization. A day in the life You'll work at the intersection of product, technology, and business strategy. On any given day, you might be: - Meeting with customers to understand their challenges and gather requirements - Working with engineering teams to define technical architecture and implementation approaches - Analyzing usage metrics for our tools, services and frameworks and identifying opportunities for improvement - Writing PRFAQs and technical specifications for new capabilities - Presenting our strategy to senior leadership - Mentoring other product managers and helping them grow their technical and strategic skills - 7 years of working as a Technical Product Manager experience - 5 years of technical (software development, network development, IT, other related) experience - Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through GTM (go to market) - Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, or PhD - Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud technology - Experience with AI/ML technologies - Experience with cloud financial management, and building AI products for engineers and business users Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
