Our engineers significantly impact the design and development of innovative systems that power critical business applications.What is IAM at OCI?Identity and Access Management (IAM) enables users to control access to cloud resources. As part of the Cloud Platform organization, the team designs and builds core services used by both internal and external customers.The Identity Control Plane team manages CRUD API calls for Identity entities like users, groups, policies, and compartments across global regions, ensuring consistency and reliability.Who are we looking for?We want engineers experienced in distributed systems, with a track record of designing major features and deploying them into production. You should have operated high-scale services and understand how to enhance their resilience. You work independently on most projects and tasks.The ideal candidate is technically strong, productive, and has worked on highly available, scalable, and redundant services. You appreciate simplicity for ease of operation and troubleshooting. You balance speed and quality, and are proactive in automating and instrumenting systems to gather the right data. You foster operational excellence and help create a culture of proactive problem-solving, identifying issues before they escalate.This role involves daily productivity, driving feature and project execution, and owning design aspects.What are the biggest challenges for the team?The main challenges are ensuring system reliability and performance, especially as business growth demands systems that can scale and handle vastly increased traffic. We aim to build services capable of managing millions of requests per second, surviving regional outages, and supporting expanded customer options, contributing to Oracle Cloud's growth.Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in distributed service engineering within a software development environment
• Hands-on experience with highly-available, high-traffic web services
• Experience developing service-oriented architectures and RESTful APIs
• Strong programming skills in Java, C++, C#, or similar object-oriented languages
• Experience with scripting languages for automation, proof of concept, or command-line toolsPreferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Identity and Access Management
  • Experience developing services on public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Oracle)
  • Understanding of multi-AZ/AD architectures and regional data centers
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines with robust testing and deployment
  • Experience with Docker
  • Ability to work with internal customers to prioritize features and requests
  • Security expertise, including threat modeling and risk mitigation
  • Compliance experience (FedRAMP, PCI DSS, etc.)
